Bernie Sanders has been a personal financial advisor with Investors Financial Advisors since its inception in 1997 and previously served in the same capacity for six years at American Express Financial Advisors.  Earlier in his career, Bernie owned and operated businesses in Salem and Ferrum, VA.  He also worked for Mod-U-Kraft Homes in Rocky Mount, VA in a sales and quality control capacity. 

Bernie is an avid cyclist.  He is the current national champion in the masters age group and is current and former masters age group champion in the state of Virginia.  He is an active member of the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club and Crystal Spring Baptist Church.  A native of Roanoke he, his wife Barbara, and dog Hannah continue to make their home in Roanoke City.  He holds a B.S. degree in Business Management from Gardner Webb University.
